I recently did a logo for my friend Kirsten Laulainen and her new business Inner Circle Animal Communication. You can find out more info about her and the business at the Inner Circle website! I am posting first the final logo we selected as well as a few of the other variations I worked up in the process. I kind of love taking my rough sketches and turning them into super crisp vectors!

Last Sunday I had the pleasure of attending the first Dr. Sketchy’s session of 2011! I had been a bit rusty lately so it was great to draw a live model, and one that was so poised and lovely! By the time we got to the 20-minute poses, I was warmed up and I think those last two came out alright! I was especially trying to capture to face/expression of the model with her amazing hair in the last one.
I do have to make mention of the fact that even though Dr. Sketchy’s is more of a fun, drink&draw, all-skill-levels type of environment – it is really not OK to hoot and holler, or make overtly flirtatious comments to the model. I am sure some models may not take offense, but it is still a place where models should feel safe and respected – it is a special privilege to draw new and exciting models, and I don’t want them to be deterred from coming back…
